20 Characteristics of Dumb Sheep

When reading the scripture, we see that word of God refers to us as Sheep.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him, for they know not the voice of strangers. –John 10:4, 5
The Father expects us to hear and follow him and not another voice.
The “spirit of dumb sheep” is one of the opposing voices of the Father which is lurking throughout the Christian community causing many to be placed under “arrested development”, thereby disabling many to make sound intelligent decisions based upon the word of God. More than often the spirit of dumb sheep uses its illusionary influence which lulls the emotions and creates false perceptions that lead into a continual pattern of undeveloped growth.
“Unfortunately, natural sheep are known to be notoriously dumb. Sheep are known to eat themselves sick if they remain in one spot too long. They don’t foresee danger, they mindlessly follow the sheep ahead of them, which makes them extremely vulnerable to harm.” –The old time Gospel
The spirit of dumb sheep produces a lack of movement towards efficient advancement. It sets out to lure sheep through streams of emotional hype, religious manipulation coupled with eloquent words to bait individuals into the ongoing cycle of disorder and stagnation.
The ongoing practice of the characteristics of dumb sheep; which may appear to be innocent at first glance can evolve into something more sinister and harmful if not corrected. This dysfunctional activity of Gods sheep must be identified and corrected in order to move forward with sustainable advancement.
20 CHARACTERISTICS OF “DUMB SHEEP”
1. They refuse to test or try the spirit by the spirit. Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. –1 John 4:1
2. Anytime darkness is exposed in sinful men they love to quote “judge not that you may be judged” out of context. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. –Ephesians 5:11
3. They are mesmerized, star struck by man’s gift and completely ignore and justify repugnant character. And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).

4. They are taken with every wind of doctrine. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.
–Ephesians 4:14
5. They tend to be all over the place. They partake of multiple spiritual diets.
6. They tend to believe everyone on Christian television, radio, and social media is of God.
7. They are easily controlled by their emotions and are governed by perception as oppose to truth. O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. –Psalms 43:3.
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth. –1 Corinthians 13:6
8. They are often impressed with crowds and large numbers.“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. –Matthew 7:13, 14
9. They believe everyone that attends church or names the name of Christ is saved or a true believer in Christ. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. –Matthew 24:5
10. They lack building a relationship with the Lord through His word; instead they prefer a gifted man to solely lead them. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. –John 15:4, 7
11. They give men and ministries money to buy the blessings and favor of God. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. –Acts 8:20
12. They continue to follow backslidden preachers who are living in open sin.
13. They stay in controlling, oppressive, and abusive churches and make excuses as to why they must stay.
14. They stay in sin filled churches where the sin is being propagated, condoned, and led by the leadership.
15. They accept almost every prophetic word they hear as from God.
16. They celebrate the performances and theatrical acts of false prophets.
17. They are highly impressed with men that wear religious costumes, such as collars, cassocks and Roman Catholic garments.
18. They follow the trend of popularity as oppose to righteousness.
19. They are willing participants of entertainment celebrity ministry.
20. They tend to accept anyone with a religious title as being ordained by God.
